We had our housewarming pancake brunch yesterday, which went smashingly even with there not being enough chairs and the power going out right before it was supposed to start. However, I could not find my camera charger! So there are no pictures! My forehead is officially glued to the palm of my hand on account of continual slappage.
In sum, we had about thirteen guests and almost the entire time making pancakes in my little kitchen.

1. Red Mill's 7-Grain (thanks, Chris, for supplying the mix!)
2. Vegan Pumpkin with walnuts*
3. Raw Coconut Flax*
Toppings:
1. Nut butters - peanut and chocolate hazelnut
2. Jam - strawberry
3. Fruit - berries (brought by Holly and Ben), peaches (brought by Marie and Sam), fried apples (brought by Liz and Cid), and bananas
4. Coconut milk
5. Ginger Cranberry Sauce*
6. 100% maple syrup
7. Dark Chocolate Cherry Granola*
8. Honey

1. Dirty Chai Tea*
2. Mint Tea
3. Lemonade and strawberry lemonade (brought by Holly and Ben)

* Recipes to come soon!
Like I said, our power went out briefly right when it was about to start so I didn't get a jump start on the pancakes. It was also getting hot in our apartment. Finally it came back on and the air conditioner worked it's magic while people talked and waited for pancakes. Kelli was kind enough to help me in the kitchen and various individuals came in periodically to talk to me once things calmed down a bit.
Oh, and Holly smashed up some berries into the 7-Grain batter because she wanted purple pancakes. I heard they were delicious. They were certainly pretty!
We didn't have enough chairs for everyone to sit, but thankfully there was plenty of space for people to spread themselves out. No one mentioned that we ran out of plates at one point. I noticed it because from the kitchen I could see someone using their hand as a plate! Geez. My friends are so laid back. Thankfully, there were clean plates still waiting in the cabinet.
It was a lot of fun and I'm glad we did it, despite fearing disaster at every turn. (It's what we do when we plan parties. We shake in our sneakers.) Maybe a bbq next?
